Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys renew contract talks

With less than three weeks before the July 15 deadline, the Dallas Cowboys and Dez Bryant are back at the negotiating table.

On Friday, the Cowboys had their first face-to-face meeting with Bryant's agents Tom Condon and Roc Nation's Kim Miale in nearly four months, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday, per sources involved with the negotiation. ESPN first reported the news.

This is the first tangible sign of progress on the contract front since last summer, when it appeared that the sides were close to a deal.

Bryant has threatened to sit out the season opener, while executive vice president Stephen Jones acknowledged two weeks ago there is "just too big of a divide" in contract demands.

Condon recently accused Dallas of being content to take a "year-by-year" approach to Bryant's status with the organization.

The renewed talks suggest the Cowboys are hoping instead to secure their franchise player's services for the long haul.
