Jay Gruden: Jordan Reed has 'little procedure' on knee

Jordan Reed's injury issues continue.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden told reporters on Monday that the third-year tight end had a "little procedure" on his knee, according to ESPN.com. Gruden said Reed will be ready for the start of training camp.

The update comes after Reed was held out of Washington's second round of OTAs with knee discomfort. It's unknown at this time what type of procedure Reed underwent.

It's not an ideal way to start a new season for Reed, who has missed 12 games over his first two seasons due to concussions and leg injuries. Reed has the skill-set to be a Pro Bowl-level tight end when playing at full health.
