Cincinnati Bearcats using burritos as recruiting tool

It can be hard for some college football programs to stand out for recruits around the country, but the Cincinnati Bearcats might have stumbled upon a very unique recruiting pitch for some teenagers: burritos.

Yes, you read that right.

Cincinnati sent Fort Wayne, Ind., wide receiver Ben Skowronek a photoshopped image of the three-star recruit leaping in the air to catch a burrito (an amazing thing in its own right) while noting how close a local Chipotle was to the Bearcats' stadium. A high school teammate of Skowronek posted the photo on Twitter and naturally the recruiting pitch became a bit more public than some in the Bearcats' program likely wanted.

As far as unique things to sell, Cincinnati has certainly come up with a new one on the recruiting trail, but Skowronek has yet to commit to a school, according to various recruiting services.

The next time Bearcats coaches want to pitch the stadium's proximity to a popular restaurant, perhaps they should note the strategy is probably best reserved for courting offensive linemen.
