Scout vs. Scout: Who is best cornerback in 2015 NFL Draft?

Take a quick look at some of the contracts handed out in free agency this year, and it's clear that defensive back has become a premier position in the NFL.

The 2015 NFL Draft will be no exception as teams look to boost their secondaries, and a number of quality prospects will be available. While it might not be a great year at the safety position, there are a number of cornerbacks who could wind up starting from Day 1 and being key contributors for their future franchises.

With that in mind, NFL Media analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks put their scouting hats back on in a recent edition of "NFL Mock Draft Live" and debated over the top corner in the draft. Not unexpectedly, the two former scouts disagreed on who's No. 1.

Brooks' pick: Marcus Peters

"When I'm looking to add to my defense, I need someone who has that dog in them and he certainly has that."

Jeremiah's pick: Trae Waynes

Trae Waynes is the top corner in this draft class. He's got the size; you can play him up in press or off. You want somebody who can run? He is much faster and has more make-up speed than Marcus Peters. I worry a little bit about Marcus Peters because people get on top of him.

"(Waynes) has played on the boundary, he's played on the field. And, oh by the way, he is pristine clean off the field. Character is off the charts."
