Strahan calls Odell Beckham greatest athlete on earth

Michael Strahan is ready to crown Odell Beckham Jr.

The Hall of Fame pass rusher and former Giants star tabbed Big Blue's dynamic wideout as the "greatest athlete on earth right now" in a question-and-answer session with theplayerstribune.com.

Strahan also named NBA icon LeBron James alongside ODB, but the point is clear: Beckham is beyond special.

Fellow Around The NFL scribe Chris Wesseling initially drew chuckles when he compared Beckham's athleticism to Michael Jordan last autumn. Mere hours after Wesseling's parallel was published, though, the Giants receiver went on to make the greatest catch of the year.

Beckham's numbers were an utter freak show down the stretch, with the wideout tearing through double coverage to pile up 130, 143, 148 and 185 yards over his final four games. The NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year grew increasingly dangerous with each new week despite admitting after the season that he was "never fully healthy" after suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him until Week 5.

It's worth noting that we're posting this just hours after chronicling Beckham's bonkers windmill dunk at Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium. The possibilities feel endless.

It's wildly rare -- and almost always premature -- to talk about a second-year pro athlete this way, but Strahan might be right.
