Old Dominion QB Taylor Heinicke to visit Atlanta Falcons

Representatives from 20 NFL teams were on hand March 19 for Old Dominion's pro day, including Minnesota Vikings quarterback coach Scott Turner, who is the son of Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner.

Twelve players worked out outdoors on FieldTurf, except for the vertical and broad jump, which were done indoors.

Quarterback Taylor Heinicke (6-foot 3/8, 214 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.60 and 4.63 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical and a 10-foot-3 broad jump. He completed the short shuttle in 4.21 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.96 seconds. He has 9 1/4-inch hands. Heinicke worked out with a script that former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia helped him put together. He had a nice workout and will visit the Atlanta Falcons on April 7. He'll likely be a priority free agent this year and has some upside.

Wide receiver Larry Pinkard (6-0 1/8, 196) was dismissed from the Old Dominion football team before the 2014 season for an unspecified violation of team rules. He did participate in the pro day, though. He ran the 40 in 4.50 and 4.52 seconds. He had a 36 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-8 broad jump. He recorded a short shuttle time of 4.31 seconds and a three-cone drill of 7.15 seconds. He performed 18 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
