The wheeling and dealing rages on in Philadelphia.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Eagles are working behind the scenes to trade two-time Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis.
Mathis and the Eagles have been here before after coach Chip Kelly announced at last year's NFL Annual Meeting that the veteran blocker could be had in a trade.
The Miami Herald on Thursday named the Dolphins as one of the squads in contact with the Eagles about a potential swap.
Mathis, for his part, has grown used to the whispers:
Mathis started 47 games between 2011 and 2013, but saw most of last year cut short with the sprained MCL that landed him on IR-Recall. The 33-year-old lineman returned to the lineup in Week 10 and finished the season as the league's No. 2 guard, per Pro Football Focus.
Set to make $5.5 million this season and $6 million in 2016, Mathis is bound to attract interest. That said, moving Mathis wouldn't even rank among the top-three transactions of Philly's offseason after watching LeSean McCoy, Nick Foles and Jeremy Maclin exit stage left before DeMarco Murray walked in the door.
