Cory Redding is the latest Colt to make a new home elsewhere.
Redding signed a two-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Redding has been a model of consistency no matter where he has played in his 12-year career, averaging more than 25 tackles per season. The defensive end was one of Indianapolis' better and more reliable defenders in his time as a Colt, and led the defensive line in snaps in 2014, a remarkable statistic considering his age.
The 34-year-old was considering retirement after falling one game short of the Super Bowl last season, but a two-year offer from Arizona was sweet enough to convince him to continue his career. Redding was likely also influenced by who is on Arizona's coaching staff -- former Colts interim head coach Bruce Arians is in charge of the Cardinals, and former Colts defensive assistant James Bettcher recently took over as defensive coordinator.
Arizona also announced the signing of fellow former Colt A.Q. Shipley. The 28-year-old offensive lineman offers versatility and depth along Arizona's line, having played in 45 career games (10 starts at guard, nine at center).
