Visits tracker: Miami Dolphins hosting Tarvaris Jackson

Now that we've ventured past the immediate deluge of free agent signings, the second phase will become more deliberate.

Veterans can check out the facilities, meet coaches and take physicals as they work toward new contracts. Many players will visit multiple locales while they make a decision about their football future.

Here is a rundown of some of the notable visits:

»The Miami Dolphins hosted former Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson on Thursday, the team announced. The Dolphins' previous backup signal-caller, Matt Moore, re-signed with Miami on Friday, per the organization. Michael Crabtree visited Miami on Thursday as well.

»Ex-Cowboys pass rusher Anthony Spencer has a meeting lined up with the Seahawks, Rapoport reported. Spencer posted 11 sacks in 2012, but only a half sack last season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his left knee in 2013.

»Jets GM Mike Maccagnan clarified Thursday that Osi Umenyiora's visit to the Jets facility on Wednesday was just to say hello to coach Todd Bowles and wasn't an official free agent meeting.

»Tim Tebow participated in a workout with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, Rapoport reported.

»Cornerback Terence Newman plans to visit with the Patriots this week, according to Rapoport. Newman, who's spent the last three seasons with the Bengals, met with the Vikings on Monday.

»The Raiders hosted veteran tight end Jermaine Gresham, Rapoport reported. Gresham would provide a veteran presence -- if not inconsistent -- alongside Mychal Rivera. However, Gresham is set to undergo surgery on a herniated disc, per Rapoport.

»Taylor Mays met with the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, per Rapoport.

»Former Falcons guard Justin Blalock, who visited the Lions last week, recently checked in with the Titans, Rapoport reported. There is no word yet on his next move.

»Center Stefen Wisniewski visited with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per Rapoport. He also visited the Seahawks on Thursday. Wisniewski is ranked 34th in Around The NFL's top 101 free agents list.

»Free-agent wide receiver Denarius Moore will meet with the New York Jets on Thursday, according to ESPN.

»Free-agent wideout Jarrett Boykin visited with the Carolina Panthers, according to Rapoport.

»Free-agent tight end Kellen Davis met with the New York Jets, according to Rapoport.

»The Seahawks will host defensive lineman D'Anthony Smith on Thursday, according to Rapoport.
