Ted Ginn Jr. making his return to Carolina Panthers

One of the Carolina Panthers involved in the great wide receiver purge of 2014 is coming home.

Ted Ginn Jr. has re-signed with the Panthers after a one-year stay with the Arizona Cardinals. Ginn made the news official on -- where else? -- Instagram.

"I'm back Bank of America," the caption read.

The Panthers announced Monday that Ginn signed a two-year contract. The Charlotte Observer reported that the 29-year-old wideout also received interest from the Titans, 49ers and Browns after being released by the Cardinals.

Ginn was well set up as Bruce Arians' No. 3 receiver in Arizona before rookie John Brown essentially removed him from the game plan. Ginn was unable to add a spark on special teams, either, averaging a career-low 19.0 yards on 22 kickoff returns.

He joins a Carolina group still trying to build a supporting cast around Cam Newton. Ginn had a career-high five touchdowns in 2013 in Carolina; the Panthers would be thrilled if he can match that type of production in his return.
