Mike Nugent, Bengals agree on two-year, $4M contract

Teams hoping to improve at kicker should not look toward free agency.

Mike Nugent has agreed to a two-year, $4 million contract to return to the Cincinnati Bengals, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday, per a a source. The team made the news official Monday.

Nugent, like Stephen Gostkowski and Matt Prater, will not make it to the free agent market. Ryan Succop is the next best option available.

The Bengals have now re-signed Rey Maualuga and Nugent before free agency starts. It appears players like Jermaine Gresham and Terence Newman will hit the open market.
