Visits Tracker: Cary Williams meeting with Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are meeting with a potential replacement for Byron Maxwell.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that cornerback Cary Williams is visiting the NFC Champions on Thursday, per a source informed of the player's plans.

At the NFL Scouting Combine last month, Seahawks general manager John Schneider sounded resigned to the fact that Maxwell -- the top corner in our Top 101 Free Agents list -- likely priced himself out of Seattle.

Williams struggled last season, but remains a solid starter in the right situation. With a banged-up secondary providing plenty of questions entering a new league year, the 6-foot-1 Williams could provide Seattle a veteran opposite Richard Sherman with the size the team desires.

Other visits we are tracking Thursday:

»Fellow former Eagle Trent Cole is visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rapoport reports per a source informed of his plan. The two-time Pro Bowl selection, Cole generated 85.5 sacks and 19 forced fumbles in 10 seasons in Philly.

Bucs GM Jason Licht was in Philadelphia when Cole was drafted and needs to upgrade Tampa's pass rush. Cole, 33, is a natural 4-3 end before being forced into a linebacker role the past two seasons.

» Rapoport also notes that wide receiver Harry Douglas, recently released by the Falcons, will visit with the Tennessee Titans.

» More receiver news: Brian Hartline is visiting with the Texans on Thursday and a deal there is possible, per Rapoport.
