Rod Woodson returns to the Oakland Raiders.

The Hall of Fame safety was among the 12 additions to Jack Del Rio's staff announced Monday.

Woodson worked with Del Rio last offseason when the 49-year-old assistant received an NFL minority coaching fellowship opportunity with the Denver Broncos.

Woodson will be an assistant secondary coach, helping improve a diverse group from veteran safety Charles Woodson to young cornerbacks D.J. Hayden and T.J. Carrie.

Rod Woodson played for the Raiders from 2002-03 to close out his 17-year career. He was a Raiders defensive backs coach in 2011 under Hue Jackson. The past two seasons, Woodson worked as a radio analyst.
