Raiders bring Rod Woodson back as assistant DB coach

Rod Woodson returns to the Oakland Raiders.

Woodson worked with Del Rio last offseason when the 49-year-old assistant received an NFL minority coaching fellowship opportunity with the Denver Broncos.

Woodson will be an assistant secondary coach, helping improve a diverse group from veteran safety Charles Woodson to young cornerbacks D.J. Hayden and T.J. Carrie.

Rod Woodson played for the Raiders from 2002-03 to close out his 17-year career. He was a Raiders defensive backs coach in 2011 under Hue Jackson. The past two seasons, Woodson worked as a radio analyst.
