Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight finally reaches out to Katy Perry

It looks like Trevor Knight isn't too cool for Katy Perry, after all.

Months after the pop star appeared on ESPN's "College GameDay" and expressed her fondness for the Oklahoma quarterback, Knight finally responded after Perry's Super Bowl halftime performance Sunday night.

Good of Knight to recognize that it took awhile. After all, he certainly couldn't suggest with any plausibility that he never heard Perry's call to begin with. Not with Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tony Jefferson, a former Sooners teammate of Knight's, delivering this social media evidence:

And certainly not with the official Twitter feed of Oklahoma football taking full advantage of the free publicity, as well. As it was, Knight already had a girlfriend at the time and wasn't about to drop her for a superstar recording artist.

Apparently, however, the Sooners' man under center is now a free agent of sorts.
