Vontae Davis: I'll shut down T.Y. Hilton in Pro Bowl

PHOENIX -- With the Pro Bowl Draft format used for the second consecutive season, some interesting teammate-on-teammate matchups arise.

The most compelling this year is Indianapolis Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton (Team Carter) vs. corner Vontae Davis (Team Irvin). The duo started talking trash on Twitter Wednesday night after being picked on separate teams.

"It was fun talking smack with him for a little bit," Hilton told Around The NFL Thursday of an amicable Twitter battle from Pro Bowl practice. "We finally get to play on different teams and just go at it."

Hilton said he doesn't get to matchup up with Davis all that much in practice during the regular season, but is ready to get after the corner Sunday.

Davis' physical style earned him the Pro Bowl nod after a dominant season. The corner, however, said he wouldn't be too tough on Hilton.

"I need that guy for the season," he said. "But when I do go head-to-head it's going to be a battle."

When asked if he would shut down the speedy receiver, Davis was brief and emphatic.

"Of course," he said.

Hilton, who is teammates with Andrew Luck for Sunday's contest, said familiarity would be on the offense's side.

"Absolutely the chemistry is there, we know to get after Vontae," Hilton said.

Not so fast, says Davis.

"I practice against Luck too, so I know Luck's tendencies," he responded when told of Hilton's confidence.

Get after it, gentlemen.
