Odell Beckham Jr. is now what he should have been in the first place: A Pro Bowler.

The Giants wide receiver was added to the Pro Bowl roster on Wednesday after Calvin Johnson pulled out of the game due to injury.

"It is definitely awesome," Beckham said Wednesday, according to the New York Daily News. "It is something that means a lot to me, and I am definitely going to cherish the moment. I'm very excited to be going to the Pro Bowl."

Beckham is coming off one of the best rookie seasons by a wide receiver in NFL history. In 12 games, Beckham caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. All three marks were single-season franchise records for a rookie.

Beckham is the first Giants rookie to go to the Pro Bowl since Jeremy Shockey in 2002. The Pro Bowl will be played on Jan. 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium. The two rosters will be selected in a fantasy-draft style on Jan. 20-21 by Michael Irvin and Cris Carter.
