Colt McCoy medically cleared, will start against Giants

Colt McCoy will get the call for the Redskins in Week 15.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that McCoy passed a precautionary test on his neck and has been cleared to start on Sunday against the Giants.

McCoy suffered a strained neck late in Sunday's shutout loss to the Rams. Redskins coach Jay Gruden made it clear on Thursday that McCoy would start barring an unforeseen setback during Friday's independent exam.

McCoy was officially listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. Robert Griffin III will serve as McCoy's backup against the Giants.
