Adrian Peterson makes statement at appeal hearing

Adrian Peterson has made his case. Now the waiting game begins.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the appeal hearing for the Minnesota Vikings running back has concluded for the day, according to a source involved in the proceedings. The proceedings will resume Thursday.

Rapoport added that third-party arbitrator Harold Henderson asked Peterson if he would like to speak and did for around 10 minutes. The 29-year-old runner was not called as a witness, and thus, did not testify.

At the request of Henderson, NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent will testify Thursday, NFL Media's Albert Breer reported, per a source briefed on the proceedings.

The NFL suspended Peterson on Nov. 18 through at least the remainder of the 2014 season stemming from a no contest plea on what the league called "an incident of abusive discipline" toward his 4-year-old son.

Two days later, the NFL Players Association appealed on Peterson's behalf, claiming the NFL did not act in a way consistent with the CBA's due process, per Rapoport.

Peterson will not be considered for reinstatement before April 15.
