Louisville's Gerod Holliman ties single-season interception mark

Louisville junior free safety Gerod Holliman tied the FBS single-season interception record and senior wide receiver DeVante Parker tied the school record for career touchdown receptions Saturday as the Cardinals outlasted Kentucky, 44-40.

Holliman's 14th pick of the season came on a fourth-down play in the final minute and sealed the win. He ties the record set by Washington's Al Worley in 1968.

Parker had three touchdown catches, giving him 33 for his career. He had two 45-yarders and a 33-yarder for scores, and finished with six receptions for 180 yards. He tied the school's career record set by tight end Ibn Green from 1996-99.

Parker missed the first seven games of the season with a broken bone in his foot, and Saturday's performance was his fourth 100-yard outing in five games. He has nine 100-yard games in his career.

Saturday's contest was spiced by a pregame fracas, and the game lived up to the fireworks. The lead changed hands four times in the fourth quarter, and Louisville was sparked by third-team quarterback Kyle Bolin, who threw for 381 yards and three touchdowns. He came on in the second quarter after starter Reggie Bonnafon, who began the season as the No. 2 quarterback, was injured.
