Peterson pleads not guilty to charge of injury to a child

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has entered a not guilty plea to the charge of injury to a child, according to documents filed to the 9th District Court in Montgomery County, Texas.

Peterson's trial date tentatively is scheduled for Dec. 1. A pretrial date has been scheduled for Nov. 4, per the court document.

In other Peterson legal news, the recusal hearing on whether to remove the judge in Peterson's case has been delayed. A spokeswoman for Peterson attorney Rusty Hardin told The Associated Press on Tuesday the hearing has been rescheduled for Oct. 22.

While Peterson awaits trial, he will remain on the Exempt/Commissioner's permission list, which he was placed on back in September. He is still required to stay away from all team activities while the legal system takes its course. Peterson was deactivated indefinitely on Sept. 17.
