UCLA's Eric Kendricks projected as second-rounder

UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks has been all over the field for the the Bruins' defense, averaging more than 11 tackles per game to lead the team. And if seniorbowl.com's draft projection on Kendrick is on target, he'll be well-rewarded for it come draft time.

This from the site's prospect profile on the fifth-year senior: "Like his brother Mychal, Eric will likely be a second-round pick. He can play middle linebacker in a 3-4 defense and projects to play weakside linebacker for a 4-3 -- the type of versatile linebacker who is thriving in the modern day NFL. He will be a three-down linebacker at the next level."

Mychal Kendricks plays linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, and made 20 tackles in the club's first two games before being sidelined by a calf injury. Younger brother Eric has made 58 stops in five games with an interception and three tackles for loss.

The Kendricks profile also notes he excels in pass coverage, particularly in recognizing screen passes, and defends the run effectively, as well. He is one of four Pac-12 inside linebackers on the Reese's Senior Bowl watch list, along with USC's Hayes Pullard, and two from Stanford -- A.J. Tarpley and James Vaughters.
