Mike Davis' 183 yards not enough for Gamecocks

South Carolina running back Mike Davis has rushed for 551 yards and six touchdowns in 2014.

Kentucky knocked off South Carolina 45-38 Saturday to add yet another upset to a day full of them in college football. But nobody on the South Carolina sideline can blame Mike Davis.

Check out the top images from the sixth weekend of college football play.

The Gamecocks junior had his best game of the season with 183 yards on 23 carries with three touchdowns. With an average of 8.0 yards per carry, the Kentucky defense had no answer for the SEC East's leading rusher from last season.

But Bud Dupree had an answer when South Carolina insisted on passing when Davis' success suggested it didn't need to. The Kentucky senior defensive end caught a deflected pass by South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson and returned it six yards for the game-winning touchdown with 2:29 left to play. A senior and one of the SEC's top pass rushers, Dupree hasn't made that much noise since he made some shocking predictions about what he plans to do at the NFL Scouting Combine next February.

According to South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, Davis could be there, too. The junior now has 551 yards on the season with six touchdowns, and has rushed for over 100 yards in his last two games.

Kentucky running back Jojo Kemp carried the Wildcats through a three-touchdown rally in the fourth quarter and finished with 131 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns.
