The Minnesota Vikings will have their promising rookie QB back for Week 6

Teddy Bridgewater missed Thursday's game after suffering an ankle injury Sunday. The Vikings struggled mightily without him, scoring just one touchdown behind Christian Ponder's poor play. Bridgewater was a game-time decision, but the short turnaround was too much to overcome.

He'll have a long week to recover now, with the team playing against the Lions next weekend. Coach Mike Zimmer said at the postgame news conference that Bridgewater will go.

The QB himself said after the game that he had "no doubt" he would start against the Lions, according to the Pioneer-Press.

Bridgewater gives the team hope, and at 2-3, the team badly needs a win with another divisional matchup around the corner. The 2014 first-round pick was electric in his lone NFL start. He passed for 300-plus yards and rushed for a touchdown in a win over the Falcons

More so, Bridgewater gives the team a spark, and his development this season is paramount for a Vikings franchise that has been searching for competent QB play since Brett Favre set the league on fire in 2009.
