Selection Committee's Pat Haden is watching plenty of CFB

Ever since it was announced, many wondered just how many games the members of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee would be watching every week.

After all, most have day jobs that range from strenuous to time-consuming. There are athletic directors, professors and even a few folks with media duties among the 13-strong committee.

At least for one of them, it turns out the week is packed with college football games.

"It has completely consumed my Sundays. Over this past weekend, I watched probably nine complete games, and now I watch one every morning on the treadmill. It is a big-time commitment, but it is fun because I am following some teams that I would not otherwise," USC athletic director Pat Haden said in a monthly blog post. "I know the committee members are focused on doing everything we can to get it right. Having said that, we know we will have our detractors."

Throw in seeing every snap of the games involving the Trojans and that's quite a bit of football to take in.

Of course, it's not as much as the College Football 24/7 crew watches each week, but that's a high bar to clear.

"I am feeling a lot better. I had some issues related to pain and fatigue that I am working my way through, and I am feeling a lot better than a few weeks ago," he added. "However, I must admit that the loss at Boston College did not help any."

Perhaps another win will be just what the doctor ordered.

The Trojans host Oregon State on Saturday. Haden should be heavily involved at halftime as the school introduces Jack Del Rio and the rest of this year's USC athletic Hall of Fame members.
