Chris Clemons cut by Texans; Danieal Manning back

Chris Clemons' stay with the Houston Texans was short-lived.

The Texans waived the veteran safety on Sunday, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, per a source informed of the move. The move comes just five months after Clemons signed a two-year, $2.7 million deal that included $450,000 guaranteed. At the time, Clemons looked to be Houston's new starting free safety. It didn't take.

The Texans replaced Clemons with a familiar face on Monday. Houston signed Danieal Manning after he took a physical, Rapoport reports, via a source informed of the situation. Manning, 32, was released by Houston in March and was cut by the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.
