Derek Cox signs with Baltimore Ravens

It didn't take long for Derek Cox to find a new employer.

The Ravens announced they signed the veteran cornerback on Wednesday, two days after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings.

The former Jaguars and Chargers defender is expected to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints. He really has no choice considering how heavily the injury bug has walloped Baltimore's secondary.

With Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb and Asa Jackson battling maladies, the Ravens had just four healthy corners before adding Cox to the mix.

Call it a patch. The 27-year-old cover man is on his fourth team in two years after finishing last season as the No. 106 player at his position out of 111 eligible corners, per Pro Football Focus. Along the way, quarterbacks generated an outrageous 104.9 passer rating against Cox, who started 10 games for San Diego last season.

There's a chance he won't last long in Baltimore.
