Bills' Sammy Watkins suffers rib bruise vs. Steelers

Bills rookie receiver Sammy Watkinsexited Saturday's 19-16 Week 2 preseason loss to the Steelers with a rib injury.

The No. 4 overall pick took a hit from fellow first-round pick Ryan Shazier, then walked slowly back to the locker room with trainers. The first-quarter play resulted in an incomplete pass and had Watkins immediately grabbing his side. The team later announced he will not return.

The speedster is being counted on to ignite an anemic offense in Buffalo, so anything that slows him is cause for concern.

UPDATE: NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Watkins is fine and it's just a bruise, per a source informed of the injury.

The latest "Around the League Podcast" talks quarterback battles and debates the gang's preseason power rankings.
