A day after the Georgia Bulldogs got a day off from practice for some pool time, star linebacker Ramik Wilson is getting his feet wet in a football sense.
The All-SEC inside linebacker returned to the field Wednesday morning, according to the Twitter feed of Athens Banner-Herald reporter Marc Weiszer. Wilson has been sidelined since UGA's camp opened, reportedly due to a concussion. Wilson's return gives new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt a key cog in a defensive front seven that will have to protect an inexperienced and potentially vulnerable secondary.
Wilson, a senior, led the SEC in tackles last year with 133.
Sophomore Reginald Carter has commanded heavy practice reps at inside linebacker in Wilson's absence, and will likely continue to do so until Wilson is ready to practice with full contact. Wilson gave some thought to making a jump to the NFL after last year's stellar season, but opted to return to UGA for his final college season.
