DJax joins 2013 receptions leader Pierre Garcon, Making the Leap candidate Jordan Reed and free-agent pickup Andre Roberts. Add in a stud running back who hopes to catch more balls in 2014, and RGIII is licking his chops. But will there be enough balls to go around?
"They'll make the most of their opportunities," Griffin told NFL Media's Deion Sanders on Friday's edition of Inside Training Camp Live. "I'm gonna give them a chance to make plays. Pierre always tells me during the season,'Just put it up there, I'll go get it' and I know (DeSean) is the same way. You gotta know, Pierre got a lot of double coverage last year.
"(DeSean) got a lot of double coverage last year. So when you put them both on the same team, you can't double cover everybody. You got Andre Roberts, Jordan Reed, Alfred Morris in the backfield. All we need to do is protect and we'll be good."
The much-maligned secondary is counting on a leap from second-year corner David Amerson, and the pass rush badly needs a healthy Jason Hatcher if Jim Haslett's unit is going to hold its end of the bargain. As for the distribution of touches on offense, RGIII knows there's one thing that cures all ills.
"Winning," he said. "That's what it comes down to."
