After a trying season in which he lost his starting job and saw his career hit the skids, Wilson is just happy to gain clearance to play football again.
Wilson tweeted Monday that he has been medically cleared for training camp following late-season neck surgery. Wilson had his MRI exam Monday morning, per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
Once viewed as the Giants' feature back of the future as their 2012 first-round draft pick, Wilson is now expected to play a change-of-pace role behind "bell cow" free-agent acquisition Rashad Jennings.
If Wilson's neck holds up, though, it's going to be hard for the Giants to keep his electric playmaking ability off the field.
