Georgia WR Chris Conley films Star Wars remake

Star Wars director J.J. Abrams might have some competition in Georgia WR Chris Conley.

HOOVER, Ala. -- If Chris Conley's football career ends after college, film-making could be the ideal fall-back option for the Georgia wide receiver.

Conley wrote, directed and starred in a Star Wars-based film, titled "Retribution", that he had filmed on the UGA campus, including some scenes inside Georgia's Sanford Stadium. UGA coach Mark Richt and running back Todd Gurley made brief appearances in the film as well, and Conley was asked more about his cinematography than his football skills at SEC Media Days on Thursday.

But the Star Wars fan managed to mix the two in his responses.

"Georgia can be lightyears better," Conley said of the Bulldogs' 2014 season, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

So how many lightyears better can Conley's film be? You be the judge:

Conley indicated he had the blessing of the UGA coaching staff to make the film, and said he assured them the production -- which took more than a month to write and three weeks to film -- would not interfere with his offseason workout requirements.

Conley will be a key receiving target for new Georgia quarterback Hutson Mason this fall. Conley led the Bulldogs in receiving last year with 45 receptions for 651 yards, although with the healthy return of Malcolm Mitchell, he could be in more of a supporting role.

On the field, that is. But not on the big screen.
