The San Francisco 49ers are hinting at a new-look offense come September.
NFL Media's Alex Flanagan was on hand for Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice, where play-caller Greg Roman spoke of change.
"Starting with the beginning of the offseason, we as the offensive staff, after three years here, it's time to clean out the garage type of thing," Roman said. "We went through everything we've done and really stripped it back down to its most element, basic parts and start over at square one."
The 49ers under Roman have been one of the NFL's most multiple attacks, rolling out a hodgepodge of personnel groupings and formations depending on the opponent -- and their own available talent.
Roman was forced to shy away from three- and four-receiver sets last season with so few healthy wideouts at the team's disposal.

With the trade for former Bills pass-catcher Stevie Johnson and the drafting of speedyBruce Ellington, the 49ers now have the ability to expand the passing game, something they've hinted at with quarterback Colin Kaepernick entering his second full season as the starter.
