Dez Bryant is under the (rightful) belief he deserves a pay raise that would make him among the game's highest-paid wide receivers.
The Dallas Cowboys appear at least open to making that a reality this summer.
Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones was asked Friday if it was possible the team could get a deal done with Bryant before the start of the 2014 season.
"As we do with any great player in our organization who's nearing the end of a contract, we start to look at it and see how we might structure something going forward," Jones told KTCK-AM in Dallas, via the Cowboys' team site. "I think that's a possibility, yes."
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the Cowboys and agent Eugene Parker have had very preliminary talks. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Bryant is scheduled to make $1.78 million and a $250,000 workout bonus.
Given his skill-set and what he means to Dallas' offense, Bryant might be the biggest bargain going in the NFL. That won't be the case too much longer.
