"Omaha!" is here to stay.
That's what Peyton Manning promised 1,200 people at the B'nai B'rith sports banquet in Nebraska on Thursday as he accepted a check for almost $70,000 from the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.
The pre-snap routine paid off as local businesses donated to his PeyBack Foundation for every "Omaha!" Manning shouted during the Broncos' postseason run.
The 38-year-old MVP made the city popular last season by barking "Omaha!" at the line of scrimmage and into the living rooms of countless millions.
"I can't tell you how many suggestions I get on what word I should use next year -- cities, states, businesses, a lot of websites," Manning said Thursday, according to The Associated Press. "I am here to tell you I am sticking with 'Omaha!'
"I'm very pleased to be here in the real city of Omaha," he added. "This (donated money) will go a long way to help the children at risk."
