Arizona Cardinals, Larry Foote strike one-year contract

Tomorrow they'll begin adding rookies to their roster, but for now, the Arizona Cardinals have added another veteran.

The team on Tuesday signed Larry Foote, according to The Associated Press. The Cards later confirmed the move Wednesday, but the former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker removed all mystery on Twitter the previous day:

Foote spent 12 seasons in Pittsburgh but played in just one game last year before rupturing his right biceps.

He's no lock to make the roster, but Foote, 33, arrives as a camp body for a defense that might lose inside 'backer Daryl Washington to another suspension and saw Karlos Dansby walk out the door in free agency.

Foote will battle Kevin Minter for snaps, but don't expect this signing to have any impact on what Arizona plans to do in the draft starting Thursday night.
