Johnny Manziel poses for photo with Cowboys WR Dez Bryant

As speculation that the Dallas Cowboys might have an interest in drafting Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel simmers, Manziel himself didn't exactly throw water on it with this post to his Instagram account, in which he is posing with star Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. Manziel identified Bryant in the post as his "East Texas brother" (Bryant's hometown is Lufkin, Texas).

Whether or not you consider it far-fetched for the Cowboys to end up with Manziel, the idea of Manziel buying himself lots of extra time behind the line of scrimmage while waiting for Bryant to break away from coverage certainly captures the imagination. It takes some quarterback-receiver chemistry to make the most of situations like that, but it took no time at all for Manziel to find that groove with former Aggies star Mike Evans.

The Cowboys hold the No. 16 overall pick in the draft, but they made a steep financial investment in veteran Tony Romo's latest contract. That, however, might not matter much if club owner Jerry Jones is a big enough Manziel fan to make him the club's future quarterback.

"I think Jerry is a businessman first and foremost. We all know that. When you talk about selling jerseys and creating a splash, anything's a possibility," former All-Pro Willie McGinest said on "NFL Total Access." "Have I ever seen a quarterback making $100 million lose his job? Yes, I have. It's not like it's never happened before. (But) I think they're confident in Tony Romo, and them giving him that money ensures he'll be the starter for a long time."

NFL Network's Heath Evans even suggested that the Cowboys might find a trade partner for Romo to open the door for a Manziel pick, joking that Manziel in Dallas would make the Cowboys not only "America's Team" but their second team as well.

NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt, however, doesn't see it happening, in part because of Jones' interest in the club's immediate improvement, something Manziel couldn't provide if stuck behind Romo.
