Tennessee is expected to release its star running back shortly thereafter, per Rapoport.

Once Johnson hits the open market, look for the Giants and Cowboys to join the Jets in kicking his tires.

Although the Jets' interest is widely known, FOX Sports' Mike Garofolo reports the Cowboys and Giants also were among the teams that have inquired since Johnson hit the trade block early last month.

The Jets and Cowboys -- leading Around The League's list of CJ2K's potential landing spots -- likely will be the most ardent suitors.

The Giantsalready have added former Raiders running back Rashad Jennings, and coach Tom Coughlin is "counting on" 2012 first-round draft pick David Wilson contributing this season.

Since the Jets have the second-most salary-cap space of any NFL team, they will have the upper hand if the bidding for Johnson goes well over the going rate of $3 million annually for veteran running backs.

The latest "Around The League Podcast" welcomes NFL Media's Jeff Darlington to the studio, reacts to the DeSean Jackson signing and discusses big-name veterans still looking for new teams.
