AJ McCarron, Katherine Webb announce engagement on Twitter

Well, this bit of news probably brings a tear to the eye of Brent Musburger. Future NFL draft pick AJ McCarron sent the state of Alabama into a tizzy Friday night when he proposed to former Miss Alabama Katherine Webb.

She, of course, said yes.

The announcement certainly made for some fun times on Twitter. McCarron is one of the more popular figures in the state after leading the Crimson Tide to a couple of national titles during his days in Tuscaloosa. Webb burst onto the interwebs' radar with an appearance during the BCS championship game against Notre Dame and has seen her stock take off ever since.

The happy couple will probably be purchasing one of those "house divided" bumper stickers in the future -- Webb graduated from Auburn with a business degree.

McCarron is NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock's fifth-best quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft, and Bucky Brooks ranks him No. 4 in his Quarterback Tracker. McCarron is likely to be a second-day pick.

No word yet as to whether McCarron's proposal to such a fetching young lady will positively affect his draft stock.
