Knowshon Moreno, Miami Dolphins agree to contract

The Miami Dolphins have added another option to their backfield.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that former Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Morenohas agreed to a one-year deal worth about $3 million with the Dolphins, according to a source.

The Dolphins were the only team in free agency to express significant interest in Moreno, who's coming off a season in which he rushed for a career-high 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns. Moreno had publicly expressed his intention to remain in Denver, but the Dolphins proved to be the more aggressive team.

Moreno joins a Miami backfield that sputtered last season behind Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas -- a thunder and lightning combination that produced little of either. Moreno might not be the Dolphins' every-down back, but he likely will see the most touches at the position.

Back in Denver, the path is now clear for Montee Ball to become Peyton Manning's primary back. Adjust your fantasy rankings accordingly.
