Morgan was a restricted free agent who the Saints allowed to hit the open market without a tender. After being greeted by a cold shoulder from other teams, the speedy wideout returned to New Orleans on a team-friendly deal. That was probably the only way Morgan could return after the Saints used most off their available funds to lure Jairus Byrd to town last week.
Morgan was penciled in as the Saints' No. 3 receiver before he got hurt. His role is less clear after the emergence of Kenny Stills, though the departure of Lance Moore should keep Morgan on the radar for now.
