Desmond Bryant is all systems go.
The Cleveland Browns defensive end tweeted Friday that he's been cleared to return to football activities after his 2013 campaign was cut short by a heart condition:
Everybody has been asking about my health. The doctor gave me full clearance and I am currently preparing for a very successful 2014 season!â Desmond Bryant (@DBryant92) March 7, 2014
That operation ended a solid first year in Cleveland for Bryant, who started in 12 games and racked up 45 tackles and 3.5 sacks after signing a five-year, $34 million pact with the team last March.
Bryant has struggled with an irregular heartbeat before, raising concerns about his future in the league. His return ensures that the NFL's ninth-ranked defense will keep intact a strong front that also includes Phil Taylor and Ahtyba Rubin.
