Notre Dame's Louis Nix tweets support for Jadeveon Clowney

Count Notre Dame nose tackle Louis Nix among those who seem tired of all the Jadeveon Clowney bashing.

Nix is as entertaining a Twitter follow as any college athlete, and it showed yet again with his Clowney post. Now the question is whether Clowney steps up and defends Nix, who some scouts think is too heavy, on Twitter.

Nix has shed 20 pounds since the end of the season and is down to 331 pounds. He enjoyed talking about his new physique at the combine: "My stomach doesn't stick out as much. That's kind of nice. I like that part. My thighs got a little smaller. I just feel sexier."

Still, the criticisms of Nix pale in comparison to the flood that Clowney gets seemingly every day. The latest was an unnamed NFL scout telling the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Clowney was "lazy" and that "I wouldn't put my job on the line for that guy."

Rest assured, there will be a GM who will take that chance -- and in a very public manner -- in the draft's first round on May 8.
