Report: Johnny Manziel impressed Raiders at combine

INDIANAPOLIS -- Johnny Manziel's NFL Scouting Combine experience is over. By most accounts, it was a success.

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell told Peter King of TheMMQB.com that Manziel's interview with the team was "very impressive." That opinion reportedly was shared by the Oakland Raiders.

SiriusXM NFL Radio reported that Manziel met with the Raiders, and owner Mark Davis came away "very impressed." Former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon likes Manziel's game, but he believes the Raiders are a bad fit for him because they aren't ready to win with a young quarterback. (Any rookie quarterback is a bad fit for Oakland by that logic. The Raiders hold the No. 5 overall pick.)

There still are questions to answer about Manziel's playing style and some lingering concern about his maturity. But Manziel is starting to convince teams of his passion for the game and ability to handle the public side of being a franchise quarterback.

No matter what Gannon believes, Manziel in an Oakland Raiders uniform just fits.

On the latest edition of the "Around The League Podcast," the guys talk about the Jim Harbaugh drama in San Francisco and discuss who made the most striking impression at the NFL Scouting Combine.
