Two years ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars had a different front office, different coaching staff and were interested in participating in HBO's "Hard Knocks" series.
The new regime isn't so smitten with the idea of the cable channel's cameras engulfing its training camp.
"Our reaction would be that we would try to defer," general manager David Caldwell told NBC Sports Network, via ProFootballTalk.
Unfortunately for Caldwell, deferring might not be an option. We learned in January that the Jaguars were one of eight teams the show could be forced upon.
"But it wouldn't be an ideal situation for us," Caldwell said. "We take a lot of pride in our culture and we're very particular on who we bring into the organization. So we've been able to build a lot of trust from our coaching staff to our players and they know, our players know we have their best interests at heart. It's hard to build trust with cameras omnipresent."
Like it or not, his team could have no choice. Depending on how the draft shakes out, a player like Johnny Manziel or Jadeveon Clowney on the field would give the NFL extra incentive to send the show to Jacksonville.
We'd also point out that Gus Bradley is one of the most entertaining coaches in the NFL. His style, along with the parallel storyline of him remaking the Jaguars in a Seattle Seahawks-type image, would work well on TV.
