Recruiting top college prospects to play at Arkansas is tough business.
Nevermind its proximity to talent-rich Texas. By the time Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and other higher powers finish their cherry-picking, the Razorbacks aren't left with top-shelf options. There is always the ever-present attraction of playing in the SEC, but by the time the Alabamas, LSUs and Floridas have finished playing the same card, Arkansas' version of the same pitch isn't being heard by many five-star recruits, either.
So it comes as no surprise that Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema -- who coached at Wisconsin from 2004 through 2012 -- is getting creative in his first full recruiting cycle at the school. And a tie to the Super Bowl is something money can't buy when it comes to recruiting:
Getting recruits to associate Bielema with the Super Bowl is an ingenious idea, if it were to work. The underlying notion that Bielema was responsible for putting four players in football's grandest game, however, is a stretch in Russell Wilson's case. After all, Wilson spent most of his career at North Carolina State. He was largely a finished college product by the time Bielema landed him as a transfer for his senior season at Wisconsin.
That hasn't prevented Wisconsin from doing the same thing, however:
Super Bowl saturation. Everybody wants some.
