Aaron Rodgers frustrated by his play in Packers loss

On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers' defense held an opponent under 25 points for just the second time since Week 7.

GMC Never Say Never Moment

Aaron Rodgers' fourth-down TD to Randall Cobb put the Packers in playoffs after a win in Week 17. Was it the best moment of 2013?

Quarterback Aaron Rodgersshouldered the blame following the 23-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

"Frustrating way to end the season," Rodgers said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I think a lot of us felt with the way things had gone the last four or five weeks that there was something special about this year, and everything might be aligning right for us to make a run.

"So, I'm very disappointed. Personally, it's frustrating not to play your best game. Tough conditions, but the defense held them to 23 points. We should win that game."

Making just his second start since missing seven weeks with a collarbone injury, Rodgers suffered his third playoff loss in four games, including two at home. He played well, but it was difficult for both quarterbacks to throw the ball deep Sunday in the frigid Lambeau Field air.

The Packers' defense held their own against a diverse 49ers attack, but they were ultimately burned by Colin Kaepernick's scrambling ability.

For Rodgers, coming up short on several drives will stick in his memory.

"It's frustrating," Rodgers said. "I think you have to start with yourself, and I could have definitely made a few more plays. That's why it's disappointing. These opportunities are pretty special, and you've got to make the most of them.

"It's been nine years for me now. (I've been) blessed to play that long and would love to play another nine if possible. But this is an opportunity we let slip through our fingers."
