Rob Chudzinski under fire with Cleveland Browns

Year after year, the NFL's rash of coaching dismissals brings at least one big surprise. Will Monday's unpredictable act of housecleaning unfold in Cleveland?

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport was told by a team source Sunday that Browns coach Rob Chudzinski is under fire after only one season on the job. Dissatisfaction with his first-year performance is "real" on the part of a front office tweaked by effort and accountability issues on the part of Cleveland's players.

It was assumed Chudzinski was safe despite a six-game skid, but NFL Media's Albert Breer also reported that team's brass are disappointed with the coach's lack of decisiveness in big moments. If the Browns pull the trigger, Breer reports that Penn State's Bill O'Brien and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels would top Cleveland's wish list.

The Browns released a statement, saying their focus Sunday was on the game.

"We will not discuss any evaluation of the season until this upcoming week," the team said.

In a division where Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati have been a picture of consistency -- hiring and keeping their coaches for eons -- the Browns again appear mired in turmoil.

We break down all the Week 17 games on the latest "Around The League Podcast."
