Brent Grimes, Nolan Carroll expect to play for Dolphins

Brent Grimes left Sunday's win over the New England Patriots with a groin injury, but the Miami Dolphins cornerback returned to practice Tuesday alongside fellow corner Nolan Carroll, who injured his knee in the game. Both expect to be ready for this weekend's meeting with the Buffalo Bills.

"It's just nicks and stuff you get during the season," Grimes told reporters, per The Miami Herald. "I'm not getting into everything, but I'm good. There's no problem. I'll be all right."

Few players have flown under the radar to the degree of Grimes. Ranked as the NFL's third-best corner this season, per Pro Football Focus, he's been reliable from the start after signing a one-year, $5.5 million contract in March.

Carroll has been a productive complement for a passing defense that ranks 16th in the league, though it has allowed just 230 yards per game through the air since Week 12.

Miami (8-6) remains alive for the AFC's sixth playoff seed but can't afford to stumble in Buffalo. Having Grimes and Carroll in the lineup will go a long way toward slowing down receivers Steve Johnson and Robert Woods as the Dolphins angle for their first playoff berth since 2008.
