Brandon Marshall fined $15K for wearing orange cleats

Brandon Marshall's fancy footwear is getting expensive.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Chicago Bears wide receiver was docked $15,000 for wearing orange shoes in Monday night's romp over the Dallas Cowboys. It's the second time this year that Marshall has been been fined for going rogue with his choice of cleats.

Back in October, Marshall was clipped $10,500 by the NFL for wearing green shoes against the New York Giants, something he told reporters he did to attract attention to Mental Health Awareness Week.

"Football is my platform not my purpose," Marshall tweeted at the time. "This fine is nothing compared to the conversation started & awareness raised."

The rest of this week's fines, per Rapoport:

» Who didn't see this one coming? Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Cody Wallace was docked $7,875 for his outrageous groin punch of defensive lineman Randy Starks in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins. Wallace was fined another $10,000 for a separate unnecessary roughness call later in the game.

»Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was docked $7,875 for unnecessarily stepping on an opponent's hand in Arizona's win over the St. Louis Rams.

»Cowboys defensive back Orlando Scandrick was fined $21,000 for launching into an opponent and delivering a helmet-to-helmet hit on a defenseless player in the loss to Chicago.

» Also for Dallas, defensive end George Selvie received a $15,750 fine for roughing the passer and striking the quarterback below the knees.

»New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead was clipped $7,875 for grabbing an opponent by the facemask in Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers.

»Ravens pass rusher Courtney Upshaw was docked $15,750 for roughing the passer in Baltimore's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

»Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller was fined $25,000 for roughing the passer in Denver's blowout win over the Tennessee Titans.

» Buffalo safety Jairus Byrd received a $15,750 fine for roughing the passer in Buffalo's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
