Adrian Peterson injures foot in Minnesota Vikings' loss

The NFL's leading rusher has been sidelined.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was carted off the field in Sunday's 29-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens with what NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport labeled a right mid-foot sprain.

Peterson was seen walking around under his own power in the locker room before undergoing X-rays. He did not return to the game.

The All-Pro rejoined the team on the sideline during the fourth quarter, per the Vikings' official Twitter account. After the game, coach Leslie Frazier revealed on a live stream from the team's official website that Peterson would get an MRI on Monday morning, via KSTP-AM.

Peterson writhed in pain on the snow-drenched field at M&T Bank Stadium after appearing to get tangled up with Ravens rookie linebacker Arthur Brown in the second quarter.

Overall, it was a frustrating day for the star back. He took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the officials and fans at the game.
